Parenting Coordination
I was appointed to serve as the Parenting Consultant (PC) for dozens of families in Minnesota over the past 20 years. Because there is no statute there for that role in parenting consultation, I was required to act within the parameters designated in the Order from the Family Court which named me as the PC. In some cases I had wide-ranging authority to change the parenting time schedules and make decisions regarding any aspect of the children's lives; in others my role was more limited. Many times, after initial face-to-face sessions, my work was conducted by telephone and mail. I have attended to the Guidelines for Parenting Coordination developed by the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts in 2005 and to the more recent Guidelines for the Practice of Parenting Coordination promulgated by the American Psychological Association in 2012. I am prepared to serve as a Parenting Coordinator (PC) for families in Arizona where Rule 74 dictates how PC's function.
